About the role
As a key member of our team, you will support our patients through every step of their fertility journey with your support, advice, and clinical expertise.
Working within a small, experienced multi-disciplinary team you will have the opportunity to work in a progressive and exciting specialty.
The role is advertised as 0.6 FTE (3 days per week), hours may be negotiable for the right candidate.
Main duties of the job
Although you will be primarily based at our state-of-the-art clinic in Hessle, the successful candidate may be required to travel to satellite clinics in the surrounding areas, as we expand our services to support patients in their local community.
Duties of the role will include:
* Provide information and advice on treatment and investigations
* Provide emotional support to patients face-to-face and over the telephone
* Coach patients to self-administer fertility drugs and obtain consent for treatment*
* Prepare, support and carry out theatre procedures e.g. Embryo Transfer*
* Carry out ultra-sound scanning*
* Phlebotomy and cannulation*
* Administer and monitor patients following IV sedation*
* Be part of an on-call rota to provide out-of-hours support for patients
* Experience would be an advantage, but not essential as training will be given.

Hull & East Riding Fertility has almost 40 years experience helping create many thousands of babies. Previously known as The Hull IVF Unit, the clinic was established in 1986 and is East Yorkshire's only registered clinic providing specialist infertility investigations and treatment.
We hold a joint research licence with Hull & York Medical School and work closely with Hull University Teaching Hospital in joint research projects.
Treating both Private and NHS funded patients, we are ISO9001 accredited, with a 5* HFEA rating and hold CQC registration.
We have a fully accredited (ISO15189) Andrology Laboratory and provide andrology services to both NHS and privately funded patients in the wider region.
The successful candidate will work with a team of friendly and highly experienced doctors, nurses, embryologists, and administrative staff. We aim to provide personalised care with an enthusiastic and passionate attitude to all our patients.

Experience
* About you:
* To ensure that an excellent standard of care is delivered, at all times, you will be a caring and approachable individual. You will have excellent communications skills and enjoy working as part of a team to provide the required care and emotional support to all patients.
* A nursing degree/diploma as well as being a registered NMC nurse is essential.
* You will have post-registration experience working within a hospital or clinic.
* Experience of working within a fertility clinic is desired but not essential as full training will be given.
* Experience and knowledge of Fertility Services
* Experienced in carrying out ultrasound scans
* Experienced in taking patient bloods (Phlebotomy)
* Experienced in cannulation
Qualifications
* Qualified Nurse with NMC membership.
* Qualified in Phlebotomy
* Qualified in Ultrasound Scanning
* Competent in Cannulation
