Get to Know This Role
The Baker/Pastry Cook is part of the kitchen team, working closely with other back-of-house staff to prepare, bake, and serve food for onsite guests, delivery, and takeout. The role involves following recipes, plating guides, and SOPs to ensure quality and safety standards are met. The Baker/Pastry Cook II develops operational knowledge within their area and works various shifts to fulfill their duties. Responsibilities include operating commercial kitchen equipment like ovens, mixers, proofers, and depositing machines, communicating daily needs, and recommending process improvements.

What You Will Do
1. Prepare all foods according to standardized recipes approved by supervisors or chefs.
2. Follow opening and closing SOPs for daily operations.
3. Maintain appropriate food quantities and communicate adjustments.
4. Ensure equipment and work areas are safe, clean, and well-maintained.
5. Organize and rotate orders to ensure freshness and quality, following FIFO and safety standards.
6. Participate in ongoing training and operational updates.
7. Perform additional tasks as assigned.
8. Adhere to all relevant laws and health regulations.
Apply if You Have
* Associate's Degree in Baking & Pastry Arts preferred.
* At least 2 years of bakery or pastry experience in a commercial kitchen.
* Reliable attendance and punctuality.
* Ability to handle multiple activities and deliver quality products.
* Effective communication and teamwork skills.
* Basic bread baking and pastry techniques.
* Ability to follow recipes and adjust as needed.
* Basic math skills for measurements and portioning.
* Ability to read and follow recipes accurately.
* Beginner knife skills and safety awareness.
* Strong work ethic and attention to detail.
* SERV Safe Food Handler certification within 30 days.
