Business Analyst | Remote with regular travel to customer sites | 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday | £50,000-£60,000 pa Our client is a UK technology company with team members based across the country. They solve through-life acquisition and support management issues for the Defence and related sectors, supporting their teams to work strategically, collaboratively and effectively to maintain and streamline the delivery of military and industrial capability. Please note- this role requires regular visits to customer sites so you must be comfortable travelling unaccompanied to locations within the UK. You should also feel confident and competent in user workshops by exercising a tried and tested playbook for elicitation from all stakeholder levels. Are you the right person for the job? Recognised Business Analyst qualification Must be able to achieve Security Clearance (SC) status Excellent soft skills such as communication, presentation and negotiation Be willing and enthusiastic to present and advocate novel technical solutions at customer sites Experience in delivering software using various software methodologies, particularly Agile and Waterfall Experience in creating UML, BPMN 2.0 models and diagrams, particularly conceptual domain models, activity diagrams, and use case diagrams. Experience in developing and documenting requirements, with acceptance tests, and providing supporting artefacts like wireframes and data dictionaries Possess a thorough and enthusiastic approach to stakeholder management, being proactive in preparing for all engagement with users, subject matter experts, owners, and sponsors Logical in approach, and adaptable to the style and quantity of analysis required, based on available time, resources, and value Collaborate in a professional, friendly and attentive manner at all stages of the software development lifecycle, particularly with clients and specialist staff Able to work autonomously and be self-motivated, with a positive attitude and an adaptable approach What will your role look like? Pre-Project: Support sales by creating compelling proposals and user-focused solutions Initiation & Elaboration: Conduct on-site analysis and workshops with customers in the UK Prepare by reviewing project domain, stakeholders, and required outputs Document business-level requirements for both customer and technical teams Communicate findings to ensure customer approval and alignment with expectations Identify non-functional requirements and operational constraints Development & Delivery: Deliver approved user stories and supporting content on time Collaborate with technical teams to verify solution delivery and quality Remove obstacles during implementation, manage issues, and assist with demos Ensure project scope aligns with budget and customer expectations Provide updates to stakeholders and escalate issues when needed Lead customer demos, feedback sessions, and manage risks Document project progress, issues, and dependencies Deployment: Act as customer proxy during User Acceptance Testing (UAT) Assist with release documentation and respond to post-release support queries Help create training materials What can you expect in return?
