We have an exciting opportunity for a Freight Coordinator to join our logistics team at our Cumbernauld depot.
Our Freight Coordinators play a key role in supporting our logistics operations and ensuring exceptional customer service.
Key tasks and responsibilities:
1. Creating and managing bookings in the traffic management system, ensuring timely and accurate processing.
2. Planning daily driver runs and ensuring paperwork is handled correctly for each delivery/collection.
3. Preparing relevant shipping documentation, including invoices, purchase orders and proof of delivery notes.
4. Updating the traffic management system with shipment tracking information and maintaining accurate proof of delivery documentation.
5. Providing excellent customer service by responding to customer enquiries efficiently and professionally.
6. Communicating and working effectively with colleagues across our internal depot network to provide updates on the movement of freight.
7. Assisting in resolving any transportation issues that may arise.
8. Using Microsoft Word and Excel for data entry and reporting purposes.
9. Ensuring efficient operations by adhering to operational procedures, protocols and schedules.
10. Adhering to company health and safety regulations and standards.
Skills and Requirements:
1. A basic understanding of distribution planning principles and vehicle capacities.
2. Strong IT skills and ability to work effectively from multiple computer systems.
3. Excellent organisational skills with the ability to prioritise workload effectively.
4. Strong problem-solving skills with a proactive approach.
5. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
6. Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
7. Working knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite (Word and Excel).
8. Meticulous attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy.
9. Ability and willingness to learn and adapt to working with new systems.
10. Working knowledge of health and safety practices and principles.
