You will be part of the North West & Central Region (NW&C) which consists of three routes – North West, Central and West Coast South – and a regional team supporting Regional Major Programmes & Professional services.
Brief Description
The NW&C G&A Team works with the Regional commercial, performance, and finance teams to provide real-time data trend analysis and insights that support the delivery of commercial assurance reporting and promote proactive management of public monies. The reporting techniques used are primarily in Excel, Power BI, and Power Apps, and as such, the successful candidate would need to be confident in all three of these applications and be able to develop, maintain and enhance reporting using a combination of one or all of these. The successful candidate would also need to have practical experience of establishing Power BI reports that are able to link together data from multiple areas to tell the whole story.
Due to many reports having to be established from first principles, the role requires the successful candidates to have a level of flexibility and acceptance of enhancements which by nature will be required as end-users access the provided reports. As an employer, we encourage the continued professional development of our staff; however, this is not an entry-level role and any applicant must have the necessary experience to deliver the requirements of the role with minimal supervision and be able to work independently.
The team under which this role will sit is multi-disciplined covering both commercial and performance and road fleet, and the primary locations of the team members are Manchester and Birmingham. Hybrid working is welcome, with a minimum of two days in the office, but some travel within the region and nationally will be required.
