We are excited to offer this opportunity to develop your skills as the Lead Pharmacist for the expanding clinical trials service. You will work closely with our Clinical Research Network Wessex award-winning team and specialist pharmacists to set-up and support clinical trials at the Trust.
HHFT has a portfolio of over 100 trials, with increasing research opportunities for patients and staff. We currently support trials in Oncology, Cardiology, Microbiology and Paediatrics.

Main duties of the job
To lead, develop, deliver, and evaluate the Clinical Trial Pharmacy Service provided to the Research Department, with responsibility for business planning and staff management in line with pharmacy service level agreements and objectives set by the Clinical Director, Technical Services Manager and Research Manager.
To manage people, to ensure the effective operation of the Services provided to the Research Department.
The post holder has joint responsibility with the other Speciality Pharmacists within the Section for the overall leadership of the Section of the Pharmacy Service.
To ensure that the highest standards of clinical care are continuously delivered.
Job responsibilities
Day to day management of the clinical trials service, monitoring key quality and performance indicators and service pressures, recommending, and implementing actions to address them.
Ensuring necessary/appropriate medications are available for assessment and treatment needs of the speciality.
Reporting on workforce requirements for meeting service demand.
Senior Pharmacist, line managing designated pharmacy staff. Responsible for staff supervision, annual appraisal, managing attendance and performance, identifying, and facilitating staff training needs.
Support the Business Unit through regular monthly reports and face to face interaction; involvement in the BU as a senior health professional in a variety of roles/functions, by agreement with the business manager.
To ensure that systems are in place for the effective and fair recruitment and selection of staff in line with Trust policy.
To ensure that effective two-way communication takes place at all levels within the service, developing and maintaining systems and approaches to staff communication and involvement.
Person Specification
Qualifications
* MPharm or equivalent
* Postgraduate Diploma in Clinical Pharmacy or equivalent
* Education supervisor/Train the Trainer or equivalent
* Management training
* ICHGCP in Clinical Trials
Registration
* Registered with GPhC
Experience
* Research/Clinical Trials experience
* Work as part of a multi-disciplinary team, negotiating constructively & successfully with team members
* Delivered training/education at Post-grad level
* Project management
