Job Description:
We currently have an opportunity for an energetic individual to join our Ancillary Staff Team in our residential care home for older people as a Housekeeper for our home in Stowmarket, Suffolk.
Our Housekeeping Team are instrumental to the upkeep of resident rooms and shared spaces and pride themselves on going the extra mile to provide an excellent service for everybody in the home.
Finborough Court is a modern and spacious home in the quiet, rural village of Great Finborough. Our staff provide residential care, dementia care and respite care for 32 residents.
Responsibilities:
* Clean client rooms and common areas;
* Help to keep the home hygienic, fresh and tidy;
* Liaise with the Senior Housekeeper on cleaning schedules and cleaning material stock control;
* Receive/collect items for laundering including clothing, bedding, soft furnishings and household linens;
* Fold items correctly, distribute residents' clothing and store linen and household items safely;
* Maintain the Laundry and linen stores in a safe, clean, tidy condition;
* Ensure all water and other spillages are cleaned up immediately after they occur;
* Maintain records as required by your manager;
* Attend meetings and training activities including fire and evacuation procedures as required;
* Perform other duties assigned by your manager that are within your capabilities.
About you:
* You need to be someone who enjoys working with older people and can have empathy with them;
* You must have at least 1 year of housekeeping experience;
* You need to be able to operate cleaning/laundry equipment in a safe and reliable manner;
* You need to be able to work as part of a team to provide an excellent service to our residents;
* You must be a well-organised, practical and adaptable person.
Hours:
Week 1: Mon/Wed/Thur/Sat 16 Hours
Week 2: Mon/Tues/Wed/Thurs 16 hours
Week 3: Mon/Tues/Wed/Thurs/Sat 20 hours
Week 4: Mon/Wed/Thurs 12 hours
Shifts you will cover include 7am-11am and 9am-1pm on weekdays and weekends, so you must be a "morning person"!
