Hywel Dda University Health Board are looking for an enthusiastic and experienced Emergency Nurse Practitioner to join our team at the Minor Injury's unit at Withybush General Hospital.
You will be an experienced Emergency Nurse Practitioner who can practice, without direct supervision, as an independent healthcare practitioner providing a high standard of care to patients who present with minor injuries and illness. You must be confident and able to assess patients, plan their care, administer treatment and discharge or refer them on as appropriate, ensuring that high quality, safe, appropriate and effective clinical care is provided to service users.
The service is open 7 days a week from 8am -8pm.
Main duties of the job
The role will involve:
1. Using advanced physical assessment skills, undertaking physical examination in order to diagnose, discharge or refer independently.
2. Clinically assessing care needs and develop, implement and evaluate programmes of care without supervision.
3. Providing specialist clinical advice within the multidisciplinary team.
4. Dealing with complex situations that arise and analysing and making decisions in relation to patient risk and care.
5. Accurately triaging people from a range of patient groups presenting with undifferentiated and undiagnosed problems using a structured approach.
6. Ensuring the skills associated with Intermediate Life Support (ILS), Paediatric Life Support (PILS) are used effectively to organise the care and safe handling of the critically ill/injured patient.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.

Person Specification
Qualifications & Knowledge
* Level 1 Registered Nurse (Adult)
* Current NMC Registration
* CPD to Masters level
* M level 7 (30 credits) in Developing Skills in Minor injuries/ Minor illness or equivalent or currently completing qualification with equivalent experience
* ILS/PILS
* Supervisory management NVQ level 3 or equivalent
* Evidence of continuing professional development
* A&E Nursing experience
* Able to relate theory to practice
* Maintain their personal and organisational development
* Provide specialist clinical advice within the multidisciplinary team
* Administers agreed drugs in accordance within locally agreed patient group directions (PGD's)
* RSCN
* Teaching qualification
* Awareness of Clinical Governance
* Awareness of topical issues in health and social care
Experience
* Relevant experience as a Registered Nurse in the field of nursing minor injuries and illness
Language Skills
* Welsh Speaker (Level 1)

£44,398 to £50,807 a year per annum pro rata.
