The Skinners' Kent Academy is looking for reliable, flexible, enthusiastic and committed applicants to join our team in providing invigilation for both internal pre-public examinations (PPEs) and external examinations on a part-time basis throughout the academic year.
Previous experience is not required as full training will be provided, however, experience in working with young adults would be an advantage. The position requires someone who has availability during term time but who can also commit to a minimum of six sessions per week, in a combination of both morning and afternoon sessions, during the peak examination periods of Apr-June, Nov-Dec, Jan-Mar. Good communication and interpersonal skills are essential, as is a keen sense of attention to detail. The ideal candidate will be a confident and reassuring presence to candidates in exam rooms, able to give and follow instructions, manage evolving situations as per SKA protocols, have basic IT skills and, most importantly, remain calm under pressure.
The role of the invigilator is to ensure that examinations are conducted according to the Joint Council for Qualifications (JCQ), Awarding Body and Skinners’ Kent Academy Regulations and Instructions in order to:
* ensure all candidates have an equal opportunity to demonstrate their abilities;
* ensure the security of the examination before, during and after the examination;
* prevent possible candidate malpractice;
* prevent possible administrative failures.
The Skinners’ Kent Academy Trust is an equal opportunities employer, committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. Successful applicants are subject to an enhanced Disclosure & Barring Service check and satisfactory employment references.
Please note we reserve the right to make an appointment before the closing date, so early applications are encouraged.
