Assystem Energy & Infrastructure are recruiting for a Manufacturing Engineer - Producibility to work at our customers site in Derby on a contract basis.
The Manufacturing Engineer is to Provide technical support to operations and execute Manufacturing Engineering activities to develop, maintain and continuously improve manufacturing processes and/or methods of manufacture, which are capable of meeting and continuing to meet business and customer requirements for safety, quality, cost, deliver rate and leadtime (SQCD)

Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:
* Ensure that manufacturing processes are in full compliance to Health, Safety & Environmental Standards and meet the expectations of the Zero Harm programme.
* Ensure that manufacturing processes are capable of achieving and sustaining the design intent, and that processes are followed so that our products and those of our suppliers conform to their specification. Rigorously raise, investigate and resolve safety related issues.
* Drive a culture of zero defects within the organisation. Works with all functions to reduce risk and drive product Right First Time. Ensure compliance to all relevant company, legislative and technical policies and standards including RRMS, SABRe and Export Contol and Intellectual Property requirements.
* Ensure application of manufacturing process controls within their area of accountability, with authorisation subject to appropriate delegation. Act as MEA or PCA signatory, where applicable.
* Identify and develop opportunitities for new or improved manufacturing processes, digital systems and technologies to meet current or future requirements.
* Plan and manage activities including schedule, resources and costs, gaining buy-off and communicating current status to relevant stakeholders. Ensure issues and risks are resolved to meet project timescales.
* Develop, implement, validate, maintain and continuously improve manufacturing processes, digital systems and/or methods of manufacture which are capable of meeting and continue to meet requirements for safety, quality, cost, delivery rate and lead time. Capture, analyse and use data to demonstrate and improve the current and future capability of manufacturing processes.
Qualifications
Key Experiences and any Qualifications
* Professionally Qualified Engineer (e.g. UK minimum HND/foundation degree or other national equivalent)
* Recognised national or international engineering accreditation (e.g. UK IEng or CEng) where available
* General understanding of manufacturing processes relevant to their business
* General awareness of Manufacturing Systems and enabling software tools relevant to the business
* Understanding of Manufacturing Engineering processes relevant to their role
Additional Information
**Security clearance**
This role requires the successful candidate to hold a minimum of a Security Check (SC) clearance without any caveats to that clearance.
Due to the nature of work this role will be delivering and for the protection of certain assets, the successful candidate has to be a UK national or in MoD approved cases a Dual National from a non-ITAR country.
