The Team
Our finance team is made up of 6 people in the UK, with additional transactional support on the ground in our Houston office. We have one finance team that looks after all things finance - from invoicing and credit control through to all month end and year end processes, reconciliations, budgets and forecasting, consolidation, tax and external and board reporting. The finance team also has significant involvement in project work.
The Group Financial Accountant will work alongside two excellent and experienced accounting professionals to carry out our month end accounting activities, work with our external auditors to ensure a smooth audit process and complete project work and ad hoc tasks as required.
Continuous improvement is a key focus for our team and we have implemented best-in-class finance systems to help us to work efficiently and effectively. We use systems such as NetSuite, Adaptive Planning and Budgeting, Payfit and Payhawk and we’re always looking to improve the tools we use and the way we use them. We also use our own productivity tool, Workiro, which we think is pretty great.
This is a varied role that would suit a newly qualified accountant or first-time mover from practice who is looking to work in a fast-paced, fast-growing, multi-currency environment.

This role will report to the Group Financial Controller and interact regularly with the VP of Finance and Operations and the CFO.
The Role
Responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
* Regular reconciliations across:
o Bank accounts in the UK, US, Australia and New Zealand
o Debtor accounts for our reseller partners
o Company credit cards
o Other balance sheet accounts as part of month end close
* Month end, half year and year end postings across entities in the UK, US, Australia and New Zealand.
* Group and Company statutory accounts preparation
* Act as a key member of the internal team during the interim and year end external audit. Providing information requested and answering auditor queries
* Work with the Senior Leadership Team during budgeting and reforecasting to encourage alignment around financial goals and objectives
* Involvement in cash management and forecasting
* GST returns for our entities in Australia and New Zealand and other tax responsibilities such as VAT, US Sales tax and corporate tax as required
* Payroll processing for our Australian entity
* Supporting the transactional team as required, such as to resolve billing or revenue related queries
* Act as a key team member on finance projects, working closely with the operations team as required
* Build and use reporting from NetSuite and Adaptive Planning and Budgeting to provide business insights
* Act with a mindset of continuous improvement, always on the look-out for ways to enhance the way the team works and how we could be even better
Things you will struggle without
* Qualified Accountant (ACA/ACCA preferred)
* A good working knowledge of International Financial Reporting Standards
* A proven self-starter with a track record of working independently and with initiative to get things done
* Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, applied in an accounting context
* Highly numerate with an A-level (or equivalent) in maths, statistics or other numerical subjects
* Excellent attention to detail and highly organized
* Experience in process improvement
* Demonstrate the ability to understand and clearly explain areas of technical complexity
* Highly motivated to learn and looking for the next challenge and learning opportunity
* Excellent communication skills
* Strong software and data skills and a robust working knowledge of Excel
