An exciting opportunity has arisen for a suitably experienced Workshop Fitter to join the Fleet and Vehicle Workshop team based at Central Depot in Dormanstown.
As the successful candidate, you will work as part of a team of fitters inspecting, diagnosing, repairing and maintaining a huge and diverse range of municipal vehicles including specialist vehicles from Waste Services, Highways, Grounds Maintenance and Street Cleansing, Passenger Transport and vans and cars.
We are looking for people interested in developing their skills, experience and qualifications in vehicle diagnostics, electronics, hydraulics, EV batteries and drivetrains, welding and metal fabrication.
With significant experience of vehicle maintenance and a good knowledge of health and safety at work, you will have the IMI Level 2 Motor Vehicle Repair or equivalent, City & Guilds Level 3 Heavy Vehicle Repair or equivalent and MOT class 4,5,7 tester status or working towards this qualification.
We are looking to appoint an individual who can work under pressure and be flexible in their approach by responding to the needs of the service including at times requirements to work beyond normal working hours. This may involve evening and weekend work as appropriate.
