Consultant in Cellular Pathology
10 Programmed Activities
COME & WORK WITH US IN PATHOLOGY - A PERFECT LOCATION AT THE GATEWAY TO THE HIGHLANDS, BUT CLOSE TO THE CENTRAL BELT OF SCOTLAND!
Applications are invited for a full time (10PA) consultant pathology post based in Ninewells Hospital, Dundee.
OUR LOCATION
Known as “the City of Discovery” for its track record in biomedical research, Dundee is also called “Scotland’s coolest city” for its culture, including the spectacular new V&A design museum on Dundee’s riverside. The wider Tayside region is great for a healthy work-life balance, with:
* Low cost of living and a range of attractive city and rural locations.
* Very competitive regional property prices and a great range of schools.
* Beautiful countryside on the doorstep to the highlands, from beaches to hills.
* Outdoor activities from walking, hiking, mountain biking, some of the best road cycling, kayaking, horse-riding to name just a few.
* Great sports facilities, cafes, concert venues and just a quick train or drive to the central-belt, without the busyness or commutes of working there.
* Convenient location with ready and easy access to both the Highlands to the north and the central belt, including Edinburgh and Glasgow, to the south.
ONE CONSULTANT CELLULAR PATHOLOGIST POST
An interest or commitment that sufficiently includes gastrointestinal and/or hepatobiliary pathology with a contribution to initial handling/reporting of urgent small biopsies across a subset of specialties is sought. A contribution to diagnostic (non-cervical) cytopathology is at least desirable but depends on wider commitments. Involvement in autopsy pathology can be accommodated for those qualified. Other interests, including a more generalized role but with sufficient support in these areas will also be considered.
Enquiries and discussion prior to application are welcomed. Further training towards a gradual assumption of a subspecialty focus would be supported for the right candidate. Flexible working is supported, and EPAs available by negotiation. Applicants wishing to work part time are encouraged to apply.
