Tasks
1. Interpret welding process specifications
2. Operate manual or semi-automatic, fully automated welding equipment
3. Read and interpret welding blueprints, drawings specifications, manuals and processes
4. Examine welds and ensure that they meet standards and/or specifications
5. Operate manual or semi-automatic flame-cutting equipment
6. Operate brakes, shears and other metal shaping, straightening and bending machines
7. Determine weldability of materials
8. Operate hoisting and lifting equipment
9. Operate previously set-up welding machines to fabricate or repair metal parts and products
10. Operate previously set-up brazing or soldering machines to bond metal or to fill holes, indentations and seams of metal
11. Maintain and perform minor repairs on welding, brazing and soldering equipment
