Title: Project Manager (Engineering) - Manchester, UK
Location: Manchester, HYBRID working available
Schedule: Monday to Friday am
Salary: up to 60k DOE
Overview of role:
Our client is a leading provider of communications, SCADA and instrumentation solutions, working with industrial sectors as diverse as water, power, utilities, corporate business, broadcasting, and public safety organisations.
The principal objective of the role is to manage the successful deployment of the client's solutions to agreed timescales, budgeted costs, and the required quality levels.
Essential Experience
1. Minimum of three years' experience of Project Management in the IT / Telecom sectors working on external projects
2. Experience/Understanding of SCADA, PLCs, HMI would be beneficial
3. APMP or Prince 2 qualified
4. NEC3 Contract management experience
5. CDM Management experience
Responsibilities:
The Project Manager's responsibilities cover the following seven key areas:
1. Customer Management
2. Project Delivery
3. Assigned Resource and Third Party Management
4. Risk Management
5. Change Control
6. Cost Control
7. Quality Assurance
Customer Management:
* Provide the principal point of contact for the customer throughout the project.
* With the Sales/Account Manager and Pre-Sales Technical Specialists (where applicable), ensure that project deliverables are clearly defined.
* Agree with the customer the terms of reference, project plan, reporting, and planning methodologies to be adopted during the course of the project.
Project Delivery:
* Identification and effective management of any required deviations from the agreed project schedule.
* Ensure that all necessary post-live operational support requirements are in place to facilitate customer support.
* Providing periodic progress reports on the performance of the project against the agreed deliverables to the customer and Operations Management.
* Be proactive in recommending alternate solutions to overcome delays incurred during the course of the project.
Resource & Third Party Vendor Management:
* Provide day-to-day management of any assigned engineering resource.
* Manage through to resolution any issues that are identified by the assigned engineer.
* Provide the principal point of liaison between the company and any third party required during the course of the project.
Risk Management:
* Identify, track all risks that may potentially impact upon the deliverables of the project.
* Discuss and agree contingency plans with the customer to mitigate any financial penalties that may be incurred as a result of the deliverables not being met.
