As the Director of Communications, EMEA at Cloudera, you will help build the Cloudera brand through media relations and customer & industry storytelling. Working closely with teams across the organization and outside agencies, you will help evolve and share Cloudera's story with our core markets in the EMEA Region - BeNeLux, UK, Germany, Dubai, UK, France, Germany, Italy and Spain
As Director of Communications, you will:
1. Build awareness through media relations, create & drive EMEA focused outreach plans, and work closely with local market spokespeople to increase proactive coverage as a driver for sales opportunities.
2. Work with the US-based communications team and local PR agency teams to pitch Cloudera’s products, industry, and customer stories and manage media relationships.
3. Research media and target audiences, and drive ongoing proactive media activity.
4. Position Cloudera's leadership as industry subject matter experts and thought leaders in their respective local markets.
5. Partner with our customer reference team to identify referenceable customers and share their stories.
6. Write press materials, review and edit long and short-form content, including executive briefing material and bylines.
7. Identify and build relationships with influencers and identify opportunities for timely local stories.
8. Manage and grow the analyst relations program in EMEA to influence key local industry analysts.
9. Work with regional senior management to develop strategic plans and objectives to help drive recognition and leadership of Cloudera as the true hybrid platform for data, analytics and AI.
10. Proactively drive engagements via tours, briefings, inquiries, and event 1:1s to increase awareness and influence with Tier 1 analysts and influencers.
11. Cultivate customer relationships for participation in analyst events and reference calls, peer reviews, and major vendor evaluation surveys.
We’re excited about you if you have:
12. 8+ years of relevant experience in PR, ideally with PR agency experience.
13. Experience with media relations and industry analyst relations.
14. Excellent written & verbal communication skills, specifically experience drafting short, impactful blog posts (in lieu of press releases) and/or experience helping companies navigate industry analyst magic quadrants/waves/reports.
15. Experience working directly with executives to provide consultative guidance and direction on communications strategy as well as help guide media and analyst briefings.
16. Proven ability to manage projects & drive tasks through to results analysis and reporting.
