Ayrton Group are seeking multiple EHS Advisors for upcoming projects with our client, a leading manufacturer of onshore wind turbines, across the UK and Ireland.
The EHS Advisor is responsible for ensuring compliance with safety, health, and environmental standards at wind farm construction and operation sites, thereby ensuring the protection of workers and the environment. This role empowers you to influence EHS policy and create a safe place to work and visit.
Key Responsibilities:
* Monitor all operations and ensure they are carried out in compliance with local regulations and international standards for safety and the environment.
* Contribute to the continuous improvement of the company Occupational Health and Safety Management System.
* Implement policies, procedures, and programs to promote a culture of safety and environmental protection within the company.
* Advise, guide, and promote awareness of all workers in the implementation of Occupational Health and Safety policies and procedures.
* Monitor workers‘ activities to identify risks and define measures to eliminate or minimize them.
* Respond promptly and effectively to incidents or accidents on site, ensuring immediate medical care and conducting a thorough investigation to identify causes.
* Conduct and document regular site audits/inspections to ensure health and safety compliance to Company and Client procedures/rules.
* Prepare reports on occurrences and provide statistical information to upper management.
* Organize training sessions on safety and environmental issues and raise awareness among staff about specific risks associated with wind activities.
* Carry out Inductions and Toolbox talks as required.
* Ensure that best practices in EHS are promoted & maintained at all times.
Key Requirements:
* Recognised qualification in Environmental Health and Safety, or similar, required.
* Minimum of 3 years work experience in an EHS Advisor position required.
* Previous experience in the wind energy sector required.
* Thorough knowledge of current Safety legislation & regulations for Ireland/UK.
* Ability to work on own initiative and possess strong interpersonal and communications skills to lead a team.
* Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
* Fluency in English is required, other languages would be advantageous.
* You must be legally permitted to live and work in the UK and/or Ireland.
