University Hospitals Birmingham NHS Foundation Trust is excited to invite applications for the position of Specialist Pharmacy Technician -- Medicines Optimisation Services at Solihull Hospital. As Solihull expands its services and aligns with the NHS People Plan, this is a fantastic opportunity to be part of a dynamic team at one of the busiest hospital trusts in the UK.
In this part-time, permanent role working Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Fridays, you will play a key part in delivering and developing medicines optimisation services across the hospital. You will work closely with the Pharmacy Operations and Performance Manager, leading a team of Clinical Pharmacy Technicians in providing high-quality, patient-centred pharmaceutical care.

Main duties of the job
Key responsibilities include:
1. Supporting the optimisation of medicines management, ensuring services meet quality, activity, and financial targets.
2. Providing counselling and guidance to patients on their medications, improving understanding and adherence.
3. Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to enhance patient care and safety.
4. Managing the technical pharmacy service for designated areas and providing day-to-day supervision and leadership for pharmacy technicians and support staff.
We are seeking a self-motivated and organised individual with excellent communication and leadership skills. You must have a Professional Registration with the GPhC, be an Accredited Checking Technician, and have significant post-qualification experience in a hospital setting.
