Role Overview: Customer Operations Assistant

Reports to: Operations Manager / Team Leader
About the Role
This position involves working with a company that specializes in the distribution of high-performance coatings for various applications, including joinery, metal, and plastics. The role supports a team focused on production, warehousing, and logistics to ensure efficient operations and exceptional customer service.
Role Purpose
As a Customer Operations Assistant, you will serve as a crucial link between Operations and Customer Services. The role emphasizes seamless collaboration, operational efficiency, and maintaining high-quality service standards to meet customer needs.
Key Responsibilities
1. Operations Support:
Ensure customer orders are manufactured, picked, and dispatched efficiently.
Work with team leaders to achieve daily production goals.
Maintain compliance with health and safety standards, conducting regular inspections.
Respond to changing customer order requirements and resolve queries effectively.
Coordinate shipments with carriers, manage stock levels, and oversee waste scheduling.
Ensure proper maintenance of tinting machines and uphold workspace cleanliness.
Support team leaders in daily operations and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
2. Customer Service Excellence:
Deliver outstanding customer service in-store to uphold the company's quality standards.
Provide expert product advice and assist customers with selecting the best solutions, including custom paint mixing.
Process customer orders accurately and efficiently.
Essential Skills and Competencies
1. Strong knowledge of customer service and operational processes.
2. Ability to plan and prioritize tasks effectively while meeting deadlines.
3. Proficiency in IT systems, including ERP and sales order processing software.
4. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to foster collaboration.
Desirable Skills
1. Experience with platforms such as M365, CRM, and ERP systems.
2. Forklift certification (Atlet/Counterbalance/Reach) is advantageous.
