We're recruiting for a Construction Environmental Manager to join the Strategic Pipeline Alliance (SPA).
What will you be doing as our new Construction Environmental Manager?
1. Assist and report to the SPA SHEA Manager in delivery of strategic priorities.
2. Enable and support team members in the provision of advice and guidance to delivery teams.
3. Support team members in the preparation and review of environmental and ecological documentation in pre-construction and construction.
4. Consult closely with Ecology Leads, ensuring environmental and ecological support is aligned and consistent, enabling the works delivery schedule to be completed in compliance with requirements.
5. Provide leadership in a delivery focused culture, creating an environment a high-performing team can thrive.
6. Actively identify environmental and ecological risk, be solutions orientated to develop workable and pragmatic mitigation plans.
A little bit about your skills, experience and behaviours....
The successful Construction Environmental Manager will have;
1. Strong people skills with a proven ability to consult with and influence personnel at all levels.
2. Demonstrate a problem-solving mindset, able to innovate and adopt digital technologies, improving environmental performance and ensuring positive outcomes.
3. Strong analytical skills, able to interpret detailed information and regulations.
4. Able to demonstrate high standards of health, safety, environment, and wellbeing principles. Providing leadership ensuring these are followed and upheld in line with LIFE (Living in an Injury Free Environment).
Qualifications & Experience....
Essential:
1. Experience in subject matter experience including:
o Contaminated Land
o Statutory Nuisance
o Waste Management
o Ecology
o Incident investigation
o Environmental permitting
2. Educated to degree level in environmental related subject
3. Data analysis and interpretation experience
4. Member of a relevant professional body
5. Experience in communicating with people at all levels
6. Experience in writing reports and dashboard production
Desirable:
1. Knowledge of key environmental legislation including protected species
2. Direct experience with environmental regulators
