We are now recruiting for the exciting role of Manager - Valves and Actuators to be involved in a game-changing role as we strive to make the nuclear industry more diverse.
The key responsibilities are to:
1. Technical leader with significant domain knowledge and experience for the role scope, leading delivery of the design solution and its integration into the wider power station.
2. Lead Integration with cross-functional stakeholders (e.g. supply chain, programme management, commercial, manufacturing, verification).
3. Accountable for the quality of their team’s outputs, ensuring appropriate governance and assurance is adopted in line with business processes.
4. Develop and manage robust cross-functional product development and delivery programmes for the team, including accountability for assigned budget and delivery performance for all activities.
5. Accountable for the management of a team, in line with the demands of the Senior Manager. They will lead Engineers and Senior Engineers, dependent on the specific roles demanded.
6. The role has a strong strategic element – playing an active part in setting the teams’ approaches, looking 1-2 steps ahead to make sure the team is prepared for the future.
7. Set objectives and run performance reviews, aligned to the overall department objectives within Components and Mechanical Equipment.
8. Define the scope and work with the Senior Engineers to define the activities for the team.
9. Apply expertise to act as an Intelligent Customer where necessary, and develop the wider business capability to operate as an Intelligent Customer.
10. Act as a key leader within the Components and Mechanical Equipment department and hold people leadership accountability for the team.
11. Exemplify leadership behaviours and be an advocate for the department/business.
The candidate will demonstrate actively working towards Institute recognition, also hold a relevant technical degree level qualification or HND.
The candidate will be a proven engineering leader with a track record of leadership and delivery of Valves and Actuator product development and delivery programmes.
