Our Team
The Court of Protection is the judicial body responsible for making decisions relating to the management of finances and other affairs of those individuals who lack the mental capacity to do so themselves. As one of the UK’s leading firms of solicitors, we have a dedicated and experienced team who specialise in all matters relating to the Court of Protection.
Your Role - What You'll Be Doing
We are seeking a skilled and empathetic Court of Protection Solicitor to join our team. The successful candidate will manage a varied caseload, providing specialist advice and representation in matters relating to the Court of Protection. This includes handling cases involving mental capacity, deputyship applications, and disputes regarding the welfare and finances of vulnerable individuals who have lost capacity due to either serious illnesses as a result of, for example road traffic accidents and injuries at birth or elderly clients who for example have developed illnesses such as dementia.
Your role will involve:
* Take instructions from clients and give legal advice.
* Manage own caseload, while also assisting the Partners and senior team members on High Value cases.
* Review cases and other relevant matters with supervisor to ensure quality legal advice is provided.
About You
* NQ-3 years PQE with a Court of Protection background
* Highly organised
* Some experience with Mental Capacity Work
* Commercial awareness
* Ability to work collaboratively and independently
