Senior Quantity Surveyor / Cost Manager
Location: Chelmsford
Salary: £44,000 - £55,000 + car allowance and generous benefits
Job type: Full Time or Part Time (minimum 30 hours / week)
Oxbury, an established professional practice of Chartered Surveyors, is recruiting for a Senior Quantity Surveyor in Chelmsford. You’ll be joining a friendly and progressive company to deliver professional cost management and quantity surveying services across the private and public sectors. You’ll be based at our bright and modern office in Chelmsford, with easy access and free on-site parking, and will act for clients throughout the East and Greater London. The role will include providing services on a range of exciting and innovative projects including education, commercial, residential and mixed-use schemes, zero carbon, Passivhaus and modular construction.
You will be responsible for the day-to-day management of several projects including:
* Preparing cost estimates and plans
* Giving early advice on financial viability
* Providing contract / procurement advice and administration
* Drafting procurement documents
* Carrying out valuations and identifying value engineering opportunities
* Monthly cost reporting including agreeing cost for variations and final accounts.
* Assisting with training and supervising Trainees.
Candidate Requirements / Experience in the following:
* MRICS or nearing qualification (or equivalent) with private practice or consultancy experience.
* Skilled in traditional and design and build contracts, and contract administration, as well as budget and project reporting.
* Experience of providing early advice and liaison with clients.
* Professional, diplomatic and client focused
