Newmarket Academy is a good school (Ofsted 2023) with a commitment to excellence. We aim to be the best we can be in all areas and are committed to being the best school in the area.
We are looking to appoint Exam Invigilators to provide supervision in all internal and public exams that our students sit. These take place in January (over a two-week period) and May/June (over an eight-week period). Invigilators may also be required to supervise exams at other times of the year. Newmarket Academy is part of Unity Schools Partnership a forward-thinking academy trust of 39 schools.
We value our people and we have developed a strong culture of collaboration and best practice. This is a casual, part-time role and working hours for each exam season will be agreed in advance. Successful candidates will work as part of a supportive team and should be punctual, have good communication skills and be able to work with secure materials in a confidential setting.
Duties will include:
* Helping to prepare the exam room
* Distributing and collecting exam papers
* Assisting students entering and leaving the exam venue
* Dealing with and recording any problems that arise during the exam
* Observing and checking student behaviour during exams
* Reading and/or scribing for students in exams
No previous experience is necessary as full exam procedure training and safeguarding training will be provided.
