Role Overview: We are seeking a skilled and motivated Multi-Skilled Engineer to join a dynamic team. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining and improving production machinery to ensure minimal downtime while adhering to health and safety regulations. Key Responsibilities: Ensure compliance with all health and safety policies and regulations. Diagnose and resolve equipment breakdowns efficiently. Perform preventative maintenance (PMs) and contribute to continuous improvement projects. Conduct risk assessments and implement necessary controls to mitigate risks. Lock off any hazardous machinery immediately and carry out necessary repairs. Proactively complete PMs on offline machinery when possible. Maintain accurate records, including PM sheets, maintenance logs, and computer system updates. Collaborate with production teams to quickly diagnose and resolve machinery faults. Communicate professionally with external contractors and suppliers. Required Skills & Qualifications: HNC, City & Guilds, or time-served apprenticeship with relevant engineering qualifications. Experience in a similar role, preferably within a food manufacturing environment (other manufacturing experience considered). Electrically biased or multi-skilled engineer. PLC, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems experience is highly desirable. Flexible and proactive approach with a positive ‘can-do’ attitude. Experience with SAP is a plus.
