A rare and exciting opportunity has arisen for a Behaviour Support Officer to join our friendly and supportive team. The Behaviour Support Team is part of the Psychology Service within Brighton and Hove Specialist Community Disability Service. You will provide support to learning disabled adults (and their supporters) in the local community, whose behaviour most negatively impacts upon their well-being and that of those around them.
Closing Date: Midnight Sunday 6 October 2024
Interview Date: Friday 25 October 2024, interviews will be held in person at Wellington House, Brighton.
Responsibilities
* Be proactive, use your own initiative and think quickly.
* Risk assess and coordinate support for individuals who have behaviours of concern to mitigate the risk of family/placement breakdown.
* Complete functional behaviour assessments.
* Support services/carers/individuals in consistent implementation of the interventions via training, consultancy and advice.
* Produce periodic progress reports.
You will have a passion and commitment to achieving positive outcomes for individuals with learning disabilities. This role allows you to work creatively and innovatively with an emphasis on person-centred approaches. You will work collaboratively and inclusively with a wide range of professional networks, services and carers from all diverse backgrounds.
You will hold a relevant qualification (Degree or higher) in Positive Behaviour Support, Applied Psychology, Applied Behaviour Analysis or Intellectual & Developmental Disabilities. Applicants holding a Psychology Degree will be considered if you have the relevant experience.

Additional Information
Your starting salary will be pro rata if the above position is less than 37 hours or term-time only.
