Teaching Assistant - Sunderland
Role:
We are seeking enthusiastic, proactive, and passionate Teaching Assistants to support pupils in one of our exceptional primary schools in Sunderland. This full-time role offers an opportunity to build meaningful relationships with students, helping to shape their progress, development, and overall educational experience.
Responsibilities:
- Support pupils with varied Special Educational Needs (SEN) and challenging behaviour, including ASD, ADHD, SEMH, MLD, and PMLD, on a one-to-one basis and in small groups.
- Deliver intervention sessions to small groups, enhancing their understanding and academic progress.
- Develop an understanding of the unique needs and learning styles of pupils, collaborating closely with class teachers and colleagues.
- Provide support across the school, including during breaktimes and lunchtimes, as needed.

Details of the Role:
- Pay: £80-£90 per day
- Hours: 08:30-16:00
- Contract: Full-time, temporary until July 2025

Experience, Qualifications, and Requirements:
- A qualification in Supporting Teaching and Learning or Childcare (preferred).
- Previous experience working with children in UK schools.
- Ability to build strong relationships with pupils and staff.
- A resilient, proactive, and positive approach.
- Right to Work in the UK.
- An enhanced child-barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service or willingness to process a new application.
- Two professional child-related references covering the last two years.
