Your new role
1. Permanent full-time
2. Reporting to the Contracts Manager, you will be responsible for the construction site, including subcontractors, health and safety of personnel, quality and workmanship of labour.
3. Responsible for the overall management and day to day running of groundworks operations/up to slab.
4. Developing a short-term programme/schedule to maximise efficiency and ensure completion is in accordance with the master's programme.
5. Manage responsibility for all Health and Safety policies and procedures.
6. Management of subcontractors, managing our teams, dealing with any issues as and when required.
7. Working collaboratively with site engineers to ensure that line and level is provided in a timely manner.
8. Quality management of all substructure work, including drainage, foundations, roads, etc.
9. Responsible for all document control as an integral part of the project control.
10. Maintain the Integrated Management System (IMS), policies and procedures.
What you'll need to succeed
1. They must be able to use their own initiative, take accountability and responsibility for a project from start to finish.
2. Deadline driven, instilling motivation in the team to hit key targets.
3. A degree in a construction related discipline or equivalent with 5+ years’ experience as a Groundworks Foreman | Groundworks Manager (applicants with a different educational path should not be deterred from applying if experience is sufficient).
4. Current health and safety card (CSCS, SSSTS, SMSTS or equivalent) and a First Aid at Work certificate.
5. Additional training such as street works' supervisor, Confined spaces, CAT&Genny.
6. Experience in residential builds would be advantageous.
7. Excellent verbal and written communication ability.
8. Strong leadership and interpersonal skills.
9. Time-management skills and the ability to meet deadlines.
10. Numeracy and IT skills including MS Office, Word, and Excel.
11. A full driving licence.
