We have partnered with a leading UK travel business in their search for a Head of Strategic Workforce Planning. This is a large, multi-site, complex organisation; this role is critical in supporting the organisational effectiveness of the business by influencing its size and shape, and aligning workforce capabilities with wider strategic goals. With a small team you will will lead the development and implementation of workforce planning strategies to ensure the business has the right talent to meet its current and future needs. Primary Responsibilities Develop and implement comprehensive workforce planning strategies that align with the organisation's long-term goals and objectives. Shape and own the approach to Strategic Workforce Planning (SWP) and Org Effectiveness (OE), including the implementation and adoption of Organisational Design and SWP metrics/measures, tools, techniques and reporting. Lead the business to enhance organisational effectiveness, including optimising the size and shape of the organisation to meet future demands, ensuring changes to structures are aligned to OE design principles. Work closely with senior leadership, department heads, and external partners to understand workforce requirements and develop solutions. Utilise data analytics to forecast workforce needs, identify skill gaps, and develop strategies to address these gaps. Use SWP to inform the wider People strategy (including early talent, talent acquisition & development, and reward). Key Requirements Workforce Planning: In-depth understanding of workforce planning principles, methodologies, and best practices. Organisational Development: Knowledge of organisational design and development, including change management and organisational effectiveness. Data Analytics: Proficiency in data analysis and interpretation to inform strategic decisions. HR Policies and Compliance : Comprehensive knowledge of HR policies, labour laws, and compliance requirements. Strategic Thinking: Ability to develop long-term workforce strategies that align with organisational goals. Analytical Skills: Strong analytical skills to assess workforce data, identify trends, and make data-driven decisions. Skilled in operating within a large, complex, matrix organisation and delivering strategy through others. Stakeholder Management: Proven experience in engaging and collaborating with senior leadership, department heads, and external partners. Leadership Role: Experience in a Senior leadership role, preferably within a related industry. Organisational Effectiveness: Experience leading organisational effectiveness initiatives, including restructuring and workforce optimisation.
