It’s a good place to work where people tend to stay once settled. They’re looking for an Operations Manager to run the business day-to-day, as well as work with the directors on its strategic intent.
THE ROLE
In this new and pivotal role, you will oversee and coordinate all aspects of the company’s operations, ensuring efficient and profitable daily functioning. You will provide clear leadership across various departments, including Sales, Marketing, Warehousing & Logistics, Purchasing, and Accounts, and be responsible for financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and maintaining a contemporary grip on the company's Profit and Loss (P&L).
Develop strategies for operational efficiency and collaboration across all departments.
Oversee inventory control systems, ensuring stock availability and minimising stockholding costs, purchasing, quality standards and Health and safety.
Manage all aspects of warehousing and logistics, including order fulfilment, distribution, and transportation.
Maintain accurate budgets and forecasts and monitor and analyse financial performance, including P&L statements.
Identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives to streamline processes and enhance overall performance. THE CANDIDATE:
Firm experience in a similar Operations Management role, preferably within the Warehousing & Logistics industry.
Proven track record of leading and motivating teams to achieve organizational goals.
Strong understanding of operational best practices, including inventory control, purchasing, and logistics management.
Experience budgeting, forecasting, and P&L.
Effective communication and interpersonal skills to build strong relationships with everyone around you.
Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a busy environment. GEOGRAPHY - The 60,000 sq. ft distribution centre and offices are in west Kent.
SALARY - Starting salary is in the region is to circa £45k to £48k, along with a profit-share scheme (that can be outlined at interview)
