RINA is currently recruiting for a Wind Technical Manager to join its office in Brighton within the Power Division.
Overview
RINA is recruiting for a Renewable Energy Wind Technical Manager to join our growing team delivering Technical Advisory services on onshore and offshore wind projects worldwide. As one of the world’s most experienced renewables consultancies, our engineers have worked on over 30GW of wind, solar, BESS, and other renewables.
The Renewable Energy Wind Technical Manager will lead the team in terms of technical advisory and consulting efforts for wind energy projects and represent RINA as a leading Consultancy in Renewable Energy to the industry. The role will ideally be based in Brighton but other locations and flexible working patterns will be considered for the right candidate.
Responsibilities
* Liaise and co-ordinate with Heads of Regions, Team Leaders, and other Technical Managers to ensure effective resource allocation, proposal submission, and project delivery & quality.
* Take managerial responsibilities such as ensuring appropriate resources are available to deliver pipeline of work.
* Oversee the delivery of all aspects of wind resource and wind yield energy assessment services across the global consultancy business.
* Act as Project Manager or Project Director to deliver a variety of Global RE projects including feasibility analyses, energy modelling, due diligence, procurement, construction support, and operational services.
* Play a crucial role in the quality assurance of all work within the team, undertaking QA and checking of others' work, reporting, and deliverables.
* Lead scope discussions, proposal drafting, and negotiations with key clients including International Finance Institutions, developers, and Lenders.
* Track and report performance of projects.
* Manage individual projects and portfolios ranging from kW to multi-GW in size across the UK and our worldwide offices.
Required experience
* Master’s degree in Engineering, Renewables or other relevant technical discipline. Proven experience in managing large-scale wind energy projects from a technical advisory perspective – minimum 7 years.
* Relevant experience working in the sector for a technical consultancy, project developer or IPP.
* Cross-disciplinary analysis skills would be advantageous (i.e. solar, storage).
* Professional fluency in additional languages is beneficial.
* Experience of Excel VBA (essential), Python (desirable), WindPRO (desirable), Meteodyn (desirable), Sift (advantageous).
