At Allied Vehicles we design, develop, and manufacture a wide range of specialist vehicles, including wheelchair accessible vehicles, taxis, and minibuses.
We are recruiting now for a Manufacturing Engineering Manager to join our busy engineering department.
You will drive the development and improvement of products and processes to improve efficiency across the plant, resulting in reduced scrap, improved lead times, and increased productivity across all manufacturing processes.

Hours of work are Monday – Wednesday, 7am-6pm and Thursday, 7am-5.30pm, and the salary is up to £55k per annum DOE + quarterly bonus.
The main duties of the role are:
1. Develop and implement an improvement strategy focusing on manufacturing processes and procedures to optimise production efficiency, quality, and safety.
2. Drive continuous improvement initiatives and lean manufacturing principles to enhance productivity, reduce waste, and improve overall performance.
3. Lead and manage the manufacturing engineering team, providing guidance, mentoring, and training to ensure team success.
4. Manage new product projects through to production readiness including production plan, design for manufacture, and project meetings.
5. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and implement new products and processes.
6. Collaborate with suppliers to source and evaluate new technologies, materials, and equipment to improve manufacturing processes and reduce costs.
7. Provide technical support and guidance to resolve complex manufacturing issues, troubleshooting problems, and optimising production output.
8. Keep accurate documentation, perform statistical analysis, and develop a set of KPI’s (Key Performance Indicators).
To be effective in this role, you will have:
1. Proven experience in a manufacturing engineering management role.
2. A bachelor’s degree in manufacturing engineering/related field or equivalent.
3. Design capability.
4. Knowledge of lean manufacturing processes.
5. Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certification is highly desirable.
