IT Support Specialist- 9 month FTC

The Job
An IT Support Specialist at Arthrex UK plays a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of the company's technological infrastructure. Their primary purpose is to provide reliable IT support to all employees, addressing any technical issues that arise. This includes troubleshooting hardware and software problems, ensuring that all systems are functioning optimally, and minimizing downtime. By maintaining a stable IT environment, the IT Support Specialist helps Arthrex UK employees to work efficiently and effectively, ultimately contributing to the company's overall productivity and success.
Tasks and Responsibilities:
1. First-level support for all internal IT queries; contact person for all UK employees (including in-house, remote and home office users).
2. Administer and configure hardware and software; responsible for the installation of IT workstations as well as software distribution and the administration and configuration of Mac OS and Windows clients and mobile devices.
3. Remote setup of home offices (DSL, telephone system).
4. Preparation and implementation of IT relocations, maintaining asset management records accordingly.
5. Troubleshooting of hardware and software issues.
6. Management and support of iPhone, iPad, iPod and UMTS (contract management).
7. Support employees with Microsoft components and other office applications.
8. Responsible for ordering and stock management of IT equipment.
9. IT warehouse management (scanner and printers).
10. Responsible for telephone and network socket patch management.
11. Participation in various IT projects (in collaboration with IT EMEA).
Education and professional experience:
1. Successfully completed relevant vocational training in the IT sector e.g. as an IT Specialist or System Electronics Technician etc., or a comparable qualification.
2. 2-3 years of professional experience in the IT support or consulting area.

7. Good time-management and organisation skills with ability to meet competing deadlines and demands.
Specific requirements:
1. Broad experience of working within a varied IT support area/function.
2. Extensive knowledge about the PC as well as very good knowledge of the operating system Microsoft Windows.
3. Very good knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
4. Comfortable dealing with telecommunications technology.
5. Basic knowledge of ADS and Group Policy.
6. Experience with network protocols in LAN and WAN, as well as with anti-virus software.
7. Good knowledge in dealing with software distribution tools (e.g. SCCM).
8. Participation in the continuous improvement of existing and new helpdesk processes.
9. Collection and administration of documentation.
10. ITIL basic knowledge is an advantage.
11. Flexibility and willingness to occasionally work outside regular office hours to support business IT needs.
12. Full UK Driving licence.
Working arrangement:
1. 40 Hour week.
2. Flexibility in start and finish times.
3. Flexibility in location on an ad hoc basis must be prepared to work across both office locations, Sheffield and Solihull.
This position is for an initial 9-month period which may lead to a permanent position for the right candidate.
Compensation and benefits:
