We are looking to recruit three Technical Specialists to join our Wastewater Technical Team within Developer Services. The purpose of the role is to review the technical information provided for wastewater connection, adoption, and diversion applications. This includes site plans, drainage plans, utility plans, sustainable urban drainage systems, and drainage calculations for customer projects, all while maintaining outstanding customer service. This role will report to the Technical Manager and involve regular contact with various stakeholders including housing developers, consultants, site managers, and homeowners.
You’ll be joining a dynamic team, where you'll collaborate closely to effectively communicate our internal requirements to match the needs of our customers within the Developer Services team.
Our comprehensive training period will cover your first few months, during which a presence at our Durrington office will be necessary as you familiarize yourself with our operational methods. Once you are trained, we operate a hybrid working policy allowing you to work remotely two days a week and join us at the office for three days.
Key Responsibilities:
* Manage the flow of technical information across various projects to ensure the timely delivery of wastewater connection schemes, meeting customer needs while adhering to application service level agreements.
* Review and approve architects' and engineers' drawings, fostering strong external relationships to address concerns effectively and enhance our ability to meet customer expectations.
* Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, including planning authorities, to ensure planning conditions are met and projects align with our commitment to customer satisfaction.
* Engage directly with customers on regulatory matters, guiding them through the application process to ensure compliance and smooth project progression.
* Develop and approve wastewater connection designs in consultation with customers, ensuring they meet industry standards and align with customer and Southern Water preferences.
Ideal Candidate:
* Strong educational background.
* Dedication to outstanding customer service, showcasing patience, empathy, and resilience while maintaining professionalism.
* Financial acumen is beneficial.
* Engineering or wastewater qualification (HNC/D or Degree level) is desirable, but relevant experience in the wastewater construction environment will also be considered.
* Current driving licence and ability to attend site meetings.
