We are seeking an experienced Finance Manager or Senior Accountant with a strong background in SME environments. This role requires a proactive, solutions-focused individual who can manage a broad range of financial responsibilities while ensuring compliance with financial regulations and business objectives. Key Responsibilities: Monthly Management Accounts: Prepare and present accurate financial reports, including profit and loss, balance sheet, and cash flow statements. VAT Returns: Oversee VAT reporting and submissions in compliance with HMRC regulations. Statutory Accounts and Filings: Ensure the preparation and timely submission of statutory accounts, annual returns, and corporation tax returns. Budgeting and Forecasting: Develop, monitor, and update budgets to provide strategic insights for decision-making. Stock Control: Manage and reconcile stock levels, working closely with operational teams for accuracy. Internal Systems Management: Oversee financial systems and processes, leveraging experience with software such as FloLens. Accounts Payable and Receivable: Manage payables and receivables while maintaining strong relationships with suppliers and customers. Cash Flow Management: Monitor and maintain healthy cash flow to meet financial obligations. Payroll: Ensure payroll processing accuracy and compliance with statutory requirements. Process Improvement: Identify opportunities to optimize financial processes and reporting for scalability. Audit and Compliance: Work with external auditors to maintain adherence to financial regulations. Team Collaboration: Partner with other departments to align financial strategy with business goals. Skills and Experience Required: Proven experience as a Finance Manager, Senior Accountant, or similar role in an SME. Proficiency in Xero accounting software (essential). Strong knowledge of VAT regulations and statutory reporting requirements. Experience with stock management systems like FloLens (desirable). Excellent attention to detail, analytical, and problem-solving skills. Strong organizational and time-management abilities. Exceptional communication skills to present financial data to non-finance stakeholders.
