As our new Technical Manager, managing one of our high-profile retail accounts you will be having daily interaction with our technical and commercial managers. Delivering the business and technical strategy for each customer, whilst driving quality through collaborative, quality improvement plans while always having the supply chain, production, quality, growers, and customers at the heart of what we do. You will also manage the QA team based out of the Barway site.
In partnership with the compliance & technical teams, provide clarity and focus on tangible targets ensuring technical strategies and customer relationships are developed and maintained. Monitor the intake supplier performance (standards, quality, integrity etc) system and develop proactive continuous improvement plans.
Key Responsibilities:
* Support the technical team with development, by sharing knowledge and experience.
* Be the technical advocate within the G’s business for the business unit’s customers.
* Develop relationships with all key customer and internal stakeholders e.g. Technologists, Depot QA’s.
* Act as the main point of contact for all day-to-day customers quality and technical items in the G’s business and forge strong and productive working relationships within G’s and with customers.
* Ensure that a clear technical strategy is in place for your account and that your teams’ customers have clear strategies in place and support them in writing these. Ensure that these have been built with relevant stakeholders and have been shared appropriately.
* Support the Senior Technical Manager in managing customer relationships and developing the technical strategy for your customers.
Candidate Requirements:
* Proven experience as a Technical Manager within fresh produce is a benefit but not essential.
* Understanding of pesticides is an advantage.
* Commercial awareness.
* Proactive approach.
* Self-driven while also motivating a wider team.
* Adaptable and able to work within a fast-paced environment.
* Able to deliver on tight deadlines when needed.
* The ability to adapt to change and work under pressure are key to success in this role.
