Job Summary:
Were in search of a sewing technician to become part of our clothing business WCF Home Shopping (home of the brands “Country Collection”, “James Meade” and “The Classic Boutique”), located in the picturesque town of Brampton, Cumbria.

“WCF Home Shopping” is multi-brand / multi-channel mail order, established for over 30 years, selling quality mature ladies and men’s clothing over 4 brands.
The Role:
As part of the role, you will:
Sewing and Production:
* Follow patterns, designs, and specifications to ensure accuracy and consistency.
* Perform hand-sewing as needed.
* Working collaboratively within a team to produce a range of design samples for the photoshoot, twice a year in May (Spring / Summer ) and September ( Autumn / Winter ).
* Make special requested garments for customer and stock requirements.
* Prepare card patterns when required.
* Operate all types of sewing machines to assemble and finish garments
Quality and stock control
* Inspect finished products for defects, ensuring they meet the company quality standards.
* Make necessary adjustments or corrections to meet specifications.
* Document and report any production errors or quality concerns to tech team.
* Re-labelling garments to go into stock.
* Shorten customer orders when required.
* Stock check on trims etc., to ensure they are available for samples in advance so as not to slow up the sample making process.
Collaboration and Efficiency
* Work closely with design team and supervisors to meet deadlines.
* Suggest process improvements to enhance efficiency and quality.
* Maintain a clean and organized workspace to ensure safety and productivity.
* Always ensuring deadlines are met and the collection is finished within its entirety to the very best of your ability.
* Encourage the culture of identifying ways to reduce our impact on the environment.
* Be willing to carry out other ad hoc tasks when required.
Please note full training will be given on all aspects of the role if necessary.
This is a full-time position requiring 30 hours per week Monday - Friday (between the time of 8:30 and 4:00pm)
