The Commissioning Training and Development Leader is responsible for developing, implementing, and managing training programs to ensure that commissioning teams possess the necessary technical skills, knowledge, and competencies to execute projects safely, efficiently, and in compliance with GSI and industry standards. In this role, you will collaborates closely with Construction and Commissioning Leadership, Product Delivery Groups and engineering departments to enhance the workforce capability, drive continuous improvement, and support the successful delivery of projects within the Region. Job Description Main Tasks: Training Program Development & Implementation - Design and implement comprehensive training programs for commissioning personnel, including engineers, technicians, and Field Service Engineers. - Develop training materials, manuals, and competency frameworks aligned with industry and organisational best practices, project requirements, product requirements and regulatory standards. - Facilitate in-person and virtual training sessions, workshops, and on-the-job learning experiences. - Ensure training programs address safety, operational procedures, equipment commissioning, and troubleshooting. Competency Management & Skills Development - Establish a competency assessment framework to evaluate and track the skills of commissioning and field service teams. - Identify skill gaps and develop targeted training initiatives to enhance technical expertise. - Implement certification programs to ensure all commissioning personnel meet required competency levels. - Collaborate with HR and talent management teams to align training with career development paths. Commissioning Process Standardisation - Develop standardised training modules for commissioning processes, ensuring consistency across projects. - Maintain training documentation, ensuring updates align with changes in procedures, technology, and regional requirements. - Drive best practices and lessons learned from completed projects into future training programs. Collaboration & Stakeholder Engagement - Work closely with Commissioning Leader, commissioning managers, site teams, and vendors to ensure training meets operational needs. - Coordinate with external training providers, industry organisations, GEV Product Delivery Groups and other OEM for specialised training programs. - Provide mentorship and coaching to commissioning personnel, supporting their professional growth. Key Performance Indicator Management: Performance Monitoring & Continuous Improvement - Assess the effectiveness of training programs through feedback, audits, and performance evaluations. - Recommend improvements based on project lessons learned and industry advancements. - Leverage digital tools and e-learning platforms to enhance training accessibility and efficiency. Skills / Qualifications: - Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field. - Extensive and demonstrated years of experience in commissioning, training, or technical development within the transmission industry. - Significant knowledge of commissioning processes, regulations, transmission operator and safety standards. - Experience in designing and delivering technical training programs. - Familiarity with competency assessment frameworks and skills development strategies. - Excellent communication, presentation, and leadership skills. - Proficiency in digital learning tools and training management systems is a plus.
