We are looking to recruit an enthusiastic and motivated individual to join our Corporate Finance Team within the Finance and Procurement Service on a permanent, full-time basis, based at our Aberystwyth office.
On a day-to-day basis, duties will include:
1. Deal comprehensively and accurately with customer enquiries and those acting on their behalf and negotiate arrears position concerning sundry debtor accounts via letter, phone, e-mail and in person.
2. Deal with queries raised by third party organisations e.g. Citizens Advice Bureau and support groups to assist those encountering genuine difficulty. To be able to demonstrate support, tact, diplomacy as well as advocacy when discussing and mediating solutions to matters that can be complex and contentious.
3. Deal with service officer queries and those acting on behalf of the client e.g. solicitors, support workers and social workers.
4. Process and allocate direct banking payments to invoices.
5. Process cash office/banking adjustments and internal transfers to invoices.
6. Process invoice reductions and cancellations.
7. Prepare and process the BACS payment runs for Sundry debtor accounts and the Leisure service.
8. Prepare and process the BACS AUDDIS files to notify the Bacs system of any new mandates and any changes to Direct Debits.
We are looking to recruit an individual with:
1. Up to 2 years relevant experience in financial work.
2. Experience in invoicing, collection, and debt recovery work.
3. Experience working with computerised financial systems.
4. Excellent customer service skills and a courteous and professional manner.
5. Ability to deal with difficult and sometimes irate customers by telephone.
6. Good numeracy, accounting, and literacy skills.
7. Ability to undertake tasks with accuracy, attention to detail, professionalism, have a flexible approach to work, and to respect and maintain confidentiality.
8. Ability to work to deadlines and to prioritise competing and conflicting workloads.
The ability to communicate in Welsh and English is essential.
