Grinder
Duration: 6 Months +
Rates: PAYE: £18.00 / UMB: £23.76 per hour
Shift: Monday - Friday, Days
Orion Rail are looking for a Grinder with a knowledge and understanding of working previously as a Gear Grinder.

As the Grinder, your primary responsibility is to conduct engineering practices to complete grinding of gear teeth to drawing specification. This role requires a strong understanding of grinding machinery and the ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining safety and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities & Activities for the Grinder:
1. Use a wide range of measuring equipment to check components.
2. Interpret instructions and procedures to assemble equipment and products accurately.
3. Obtain relevant information from the relevant sources.
4. Control machines and processes.
5. Perform inspections of equipment, structures, materials, and products.
6. Analyze information and find the best solutions to problems.
7. Maintain clear and honest communication at all times.
8. Keep the work environment safe.
9. Learn and apply the latest relevant knowledge to the work.
10. Mentor trainees/apprentices when applicable.
Background & Experience:
Minimum 1-year experience in the relevant rail or automotive industry.
Previous experience of Reishauer, Niles, and Pfauter gear grinding machines would be advantageous.
Recognized engineering qualification required.
Self-motivated.
Qualifications required for the Grinder position:
Minimum requirements: NVQ / City and Guilds Level 3 in a recognized Engineering discipline.
Full apprenticeship in a Mechanical discipline.
