SEN Teaching Assistant
Location: Darwen, Lancashire
Salary: £11.72 - £12.78 per hour (actual salary: £20,941.30 - £22,835.30, depending on experience)
Hours: 40 hours per week - Term Time Only
We are looking for a compassionate and experienced SEN Teaching Assistant (Level 1-2) to join our team in Darwen. You will be working with students aged 10-19 who have a range of complex needs, including Autism, Asperger's Syndrome, and other related conditions.
The Role ...
As a SEN Teaching Assistant, you will support students in their academic and personal development, helping to create a safe and positive learning environment. Your role will include working closely with the class teacher to plan and deliver tailored lessons, as well as supporting the well-being and behaviour management of the students.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Assist in planning and evaluating learning activities.
2. Provide regular feedback on student progress.
3. Monitor and report on student development in line with school policies.
4. Support students in maintaining focus and managing behaviour.
5. Encourage students' social, emotional, and academic growth.
Skills and Qualifications:
6. Experience in supporting children with Special Educational Needs (SEN).
7. A full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle (essential for student transport on a rota basis).
8. GCSE Maths and English (Grade C/Level 2 or above) - essential.
9. A Level 2 or higher qualification in Teaching and Learning Support (desirable).
10. Strong knowledge of safeguarding and child protection procedures.
11. A positive, flexible attitude with a desire to help students succeed.
