Job Title: Machine Operator
Location: Gloucester
Pay Range: £25,145
Shift: 7:30am to 4pm (Mon-Thurs), 7:30am to 1pm (Friday)
Contract Type: Permanent
My client, a dynamic organization, is looking for a machinist to join their team in Gloucester. You will work across diverse, high-impact industries such as aerospace, defence, and high-performance automotive. The successful candidate will be responsible for operating various machines to ensure the production of high-quality components that meet customer specifications, with a focus on precision and efficiency. PLEASE NOTE: To be successful for this role, you will have to successfully pass a DBS check.
Key Responsibilities - CNC Milling
1. Operate Beam Saws & Sanding equipment
2. Operate Haas/Fanuc-controlled CNC machines
3. Read and work from Technical Drawings
4. Prepare and load materials and components
5. Work to specific tolerances ensuring accuracy for each operation
6. Inspect and measure finished components, recording results using in-process inspection sheets
7. Fulfil daily responsibilities using our ERP system (IFS)
8. Report any issues to their Supervisor/Manager
9. Take a proactive approach to managing their own and others' Health & Safety
10. Be flexible in their duties/responsibilities and perform other duties which reasonably correspond to the general character of their job
11. Adhere to all Company's policies
Qualifications & Requirements - CNC Milling
1. Experience operating machinery such as Saws, Sanders & CNCs
2. Experience producing precision milled components from a variety of materials, mainly composite, aluminium & plastics
3. Preferred experience operational use of Fanuc/Haas controlled machines
4. Ability to complete ongoing quality documentation, maintaining communication with supervisors and quality operatives
5. Understand basic measurement principles
6. Understanding of basic quality & process principles
