Job Description To actively participate within the QHSE department to ensure the business provides ongoing occupational health & safety support, guidance, advice and training, whilst ensuring robust compliance with company policies and applicable Health & Safety standards & legislation. Provide advice and guidance to staff and managers on content of policies, procedures and legal regulations associated with health, safety, and environment. Coordinate and carry out proactive HSE inspections, audits, and tours to identify and mitigate hazards/risk. Foster a collaborative culture and work environment by actively engaging with team members. Regularly walk the shop floor to monitor progress, gather feedback, and address any issues promptly. Support and engage staff in producing suitable and sufficient risk assessments covering all site activities. Develop and manage HSE actions plans, strategies and targets to drive continuous improvement and enhance the HSE ethos on site. Contribute site training plans for HSE by identifying training needs at all levels and participating in the delivery of training. Assessing process equipment and machinery to ensure they are in a safe, working order and compliant with all relevant standards and legislation. Promoting, coordinating, and administrating regular scheduled HSE Committee meetings on site to actively engage staff at all levels on HSE improvement activities. Interact with company IT safety system (Assure) to proactively manage HSE related data and ensure accurate and effective HSE metrics across the organisation. Liaise with external bodies, regulators and agencies as required e.g. HSE, Environment Agency, local authorities, emergency services etc. Comply with & promote best practice in Health & Safety and Environmental matters as established through the Company Policy and acting as a role model for HSE behaviour. Fulfil other ad hoc duties as required by the QHSE Manager
