Job summary This post is for a Resident Clinical Fellow in Emergency Medicine. This is a whole time post offering an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated Medic to join a dynamic, rapidly expanding team delivering multidisciplinary acute care in Mersey and West Lancashire Teaching Hospitals. Main duties of the job The postholder will work on the Tier 1 rota working a 1:8 shift pattern (including night shifts) in the Adult A&E department at Southport. There will also be the opportunity to undertake some clinical shifts in the Paediatric A&E Department on the Ormskirk site. The department has undergone significant refurbishment over the last 18 months to create additional clinical areas. The department is well supported by a Hospital Alcohol Team, Mental Health, and is in the process of developing frailty services. There is an established Ambulatory Care Unit and a Surgical Assessment Unit, in addition to a Clinical Decisions Unit. There is an active teaching programme in the department and every effort is made to support staff in developing special interests.
