Job summary Ashford and St. Peter's Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust would like to invite applications for a Senior Clinical Research Fellowship post covering Elective Upper Limb Orthopaedic Surgery (mainly shoulder & elbow), including complex arthroplasty, reconstruction (incl. tendon transfers) & sports surgery, under the supervision of Mr Rohit Gupta and Mr Ali Narvani, as well as the rest of the Upper Limb Unit. This post(s) will commence in October 2025 /- April 2026 for a period of 6 or 12 months. The post is designed for senior trainees who are ideally post-CCT (or within 6/12 of CCT), and have completed FRCS(Orth) exam from a UK based Orthopaedic training scheme, or those with equivalent additional clinical experience. Brief Description of Clinical Duties: You will have supervised operating lists and will be expected to operate independently during the course of the post. You will attend regular upper limb specialist clinics, incl. a monthly tertiary referral complex clinic. Ideally this post would suit a senior trainee wishing to consolidate their skills before moving onto an Upper Limb Consultant position. To work with the existing orthopaedic surgeons across both Ashford and St. Peter's Hospitals to provide an efficient and effective orthopaedic service. To provide inpatients, day case and outpatients care for the patients requiring elective and emergency orthopaedic surgery, in accordance with the Trust contractual obligations. To adopt a continuing responsibility for the care of patients in your care and in partnership with other colleagues working in the speciality for the proper function of the department. The Clinical Fellow would undertake to ensure that clinical audit was an ongoing programme and that agreed actions required as indicated from audit were implemented.
