To assist the site manager and supervise the M&E scope of works on site including interfacing with and sensibly monitoring any subcontractors whilst feeding back the necessary information to the site manager. - Ensure compliance to CDM regulations on site. - Ensure all setting to work procedures are followed - Ensure works are delivered to a programme whilst maintaining the highest standards of health and safety - Produce reports and provide information in a timely manner - To provide sufficient and timely supervision and guidance to ensure staff and sub-contractors are performing to agreed production levels - To maintain own levels of skill and knowledge to do the job effectively - To perform other duties as directed by your line manager or management team - To comply with the relevant Company HSQE and welfare policy provisions - To support clients and ensure all agreed KPIs are met or exceeded - Promote best practice, capture best practice and ensure it is fed-back into the business. - Lead by example in health, safety, quality & environmental management. - Ensure quality standards are met and maintained throughout the project and assist with the generation of as built drawings - Assist with the implementation of Safe Systems of Work including Low Voltage procedures and Impressed Voltage procedures - Set others to work and monitor throughout the task / project - Responsible for the recruitment, development, training, and retention of staff. - Responsible for conducting performance evaluations for department staff. - Provide leadership, guidance, and instruction to the department. - Responsible for interpreting the organization's policies, purposes, and goals to staff. - Responsible for overall QA/QC process adherence. - Enforce compliance with company and site safety policies. - Responsible for diversity initiatives. - Performs other duties as assigned - Complies with all policies and standards Qualifications - General Certificate of Secondary Education applicable years of exp in lieu of degree 8 years experience in the T&D industry in an M&E role, preferably on National Grid sites Required - Full UK driving licence - Nation Grid Competent Person NSI 6 & 8 Full - IOSHH Managing Safely or SMSTS or SSSTS - IOSH environmental or equivalent - CSCS or CCNSG Safety Passport - Previous experience in a supervisory level - HNC / HND in Electrical / Mechanical Engineering - Formal Electrical / Mechanical training - Impressed Voltage training - Temporary Works Coordinator or Supervisor experience - IOSH environmental or equivalent - HSG47 - IOSH environmental or equivalent Job Construction Services Primary Location GB-Birmingham UK-Birmingham Schedule: Full-time Travel: Yes, 100 % of the Time Req ID: 242734 Job Hire Type Experienced LI-JA UKO N/A
