Your dream role:
Are you passionate about ensuring product quality and driving excellence in supplier relationships? We're seeking a highly skilled individual to take on the role of Advanced Product Quality Planning Engineer. In this key position, you will be responsible for ensuring the highest standards of quality throughout the supply chain process.
Your duties will include:
8. Leading quality involvement in design reviews and DFMEA (Design Failure Mode and Effects Analysis) development.
9. Developing PFMEAs (Process Failure Mode and Effects Analysis) and Control plans for suppliers.
10. Establishing and implementing an APQP (Advanced Product Quality Planning) process integrated into the Alexander Dennis management system.
11. Developing and implementing a Supplier PPAP (Production Part Approval Process) tracking system.
12. Managing supplier KPIs to ensure activities are on plan, including PPAP and change control.
13. Analysing and summarising supplier PPAP submissions, including capability data and measurement systems analysis.
14. Chairing regular review meetings with suppliers.
15. Reporting department status to wider project teams during periodic gateways.
16. Identifying and creating supplier development opportunities in collaboration with Group SQA (Supplier Quality Assurance).
17. Providing support for 8D (Eight Disciplines) activities for lessons learned and input on generic FMEA (Failure Mode and Effects Analysis).
18. Leading and supporting improvement projects for quality across the business.
19. Supporting management review meetings where APQP status is shared and actioned.
20. Conducting sample inspections of parts when required.
What you will bring:
21. Degree or experience in a relevant Engineering discipline.
22. Previous extensive experience with APQP and PPAP both delivering and managing the process.
23. Proven track record in an automotive and manufacturing environment.
24. OEM/Tier 1/Tier 2 experience.
25. Experience of and ability to influence suppliers to deliver on quality standards and objectives.
26. Ability to read and understand Engineering drawings, CAD data and Geometric Dimensions and Tolerancing.
27. Proven involvement and use of FMEA, Control Plans, Statistical Process Control and Measurement Systems Analysis.
28. Knowledge of IS9001 standard management systems.
29. Trained Lead or Internal Auditor.
30. Excellent problem-solving skills using core tools; 8D, DMAIC….
31. Ability to communicate clearly and with purpose at all levels of the business.
32. Be a leader in your field of responsibility to ensure support for your objectives.
Desirable:
33. IATF 16949 management system experience and auditing.
34. Lean Six Sigma Trained (Green Belt)
35. Working knowledge of OEM vehicle manufacturing processes
36. Supply chain relationship building, agreements and developments.
