Main duties responsibilities The role sits in Group FP&A in London and has 2 key components: To look after capital dataset, tax and impairment as part of the forecasting process, ensuring coordination between the SMEs, Group and the businesses, data quality, and production of commentary and analysis. For quarter-end, review of key metrics and disclosure To develop analytics capabilities. This includes production of scenario analysis, sensitivities, peer benchmarking, NGE analysis. ad hoc Deliverables include papers to the Finance Committee, ExCo and Board. The role has 2 direct reports in London and 3 in India. Proactively manage all relevant stakeholders (including Treasury, Group Tax, Impairment, Planning, Business Finance teams) across all FP&A processes (In-year Outlook, Medium Term Plan and Stress Test) Provide leadership, support and guidance for London and India-based colleagues Provide and enhance insightful analysis and commentary to support updates to various Finance forums, including Finance Committee, ExCo and Board Challenge process and dependencies to drive efficiency and control enhancements Drive initiatives and projects that improve analytical capabilities Leverage subject-matter expertise to provide insightful analysis and support the decision making of bank's senior management Qualifications & requirements Qualified accountant Strong (2:1) university degree or equivalent FP&A or technical background, Financial Services sector experience Strong Excel skills with financial modelling and analysis expertise Strong communication/relationship management skills Strong analytical and creative problem-solving skills You may be assessed on key critical skills relevant for success in role, such as risk and controls, change and transformation, business acumen, strategic thinking and digital and technology, as well as job-specific technical skills. Purpose of the role To provide financial expertise and support to specific business units or departments within the organisation, and act as a liaison between the finance function and various business units, helping to bridge the gap between financial data and business decisions. Accountabilities Development and implementation of business unit financial strategies, plans and budgets, using insights to evaluate the financial implications of strategic initiatives and recommend appropriate actions. Development of financial models to forecast future performance,assess investment opportunities,and evaluate financial risks for business units, and to analyse the impact of business decisions on financial performance and provision of recommendations.. Cross functional collaboration to provide financial insights and guidance to business unit stakeholders. Identification of opportunities and implementation of financial process improvements that streamline financial operations. Support to business units in identification,assessment,and mitigation of financial risks, including provision of training and guidance to business units on financial risk management and compliance practices. Analysis and presentation of financial data to provide insights into business performance,identify trends,and support decision-making.
