Hull University Teaching Hospitals are seeking to recruit a Band 4 Senior Therapy Assistant to join our diverse team of allied health professionals and support staff who work across a range of clinical specialties within an acute care setting. This post holder will work primary in the Medicine team within Hull Royal Infirmary but the successful recruit may be required to work anywhere within the HUTH therapy service dependent on service needs. Main duties of the job The successful candidate will work in the Medicine team assisting in the delivery of effective and timely therapeutic interventions to a wide range of inpatients who present with a multitude of complex needs. Tasks will include completion of ward-based therapy assessments and interventions, and potentially some community-based visits to assess for equipment needs on discharge. Driver preferred due to the nature of the post. As a Senior Assistant, you will be responsible for carrying your own triaged and supported caseload, and the supervision, coordination and delegation of tasks to staff of a lower grade. You will also provide support to Occupational Therapists and Physiotherapists in both direct patient treatment and non-clinical duties associated with the running of the service. Applicants must possess a minimum of NVQ level 3 in Care or equivalent and be able to demonstrate evidence of OT and/or Physiotherapy assistant competencies, and extensive experience/knowledge of patient conditions and therapeutic interventions. In addition, you will be able to demonstrate excellent communication and organisational skills.
