Residential Support Worker Location: Sheffield, South Yorkshire Salary: £90 - £120 per day Start Date: ASAP GSL Education’s South Yorkshire branch is looking for a dedicated and compassionate Residential Support Worker to join our team in Sheffield. This role is ideal for individuals who are passionate about making a difference in the lives of young people and have experience in a residential or care setting. Job Summary: As a Residential Support Worker, you will provide essential support and guidance to young people living in a residential setting. Your role will involve creating a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment, helping residents to develop their social, emotional, and life skills. Key Responsibilities for Residential Support Worker: Provide day-to-day support to young residents, ensuring their safety and well-being. Build trusting relationships with young people, promoting their confidence and self-esteem. Assist in the planning and implementation of individual care plans, addressing the specific needs and goals of each resident. Encourage positive behaviour and social skills through structured activities and interventions. Monitor and record residents' progress, behaviours, and emotional well-being, reporting any concerns to senior staff. Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, including social workers, educators, and healthcare professionals, to ensure holistic support for residents. Participate in group and individual activities to foster personal development and life skills. Support residents in daily living tasks, including personal care, meal preparation, and household chores. Essential Requirements for Residential Support Worker: Previous experience working in a residential care or support role, preferably with young people. Strong understanding of safeguarding and child protection principles. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with young people and colleagues. A patient, empathetic, and resilient approach to working with challenging behaviours. Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, as required. A valid DBS registered on the Update Service, or a willingness to apply for one.
